Prime Minister Hun Manet Highlights Growth in Cambodian Exports at Trade Expo

Phnom Penh, December 13, 2024 — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed pride in the nation's export achievements as he opened the Cambodian Trade Expo at the PH Green Hall Center in Phnom Penh. Speaking at the ceremony, the Prime Minister celebrated the impressive growth of Cambodian exports, which have been steadily increasing each year.

For the first 11 months of 2024, Cambodia’s export volume reached US$50.46 billion, marking a significant 15.95 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023. This growth highlights Cambodia's continued progress in expanding its presence in global and regional markets.

The Prime Minister commended the efforts of the Ministry of Commerce and other relevant ministries in fostering trade and attracting investment. He recognized their role in driving export growth and positioning Cambodia as an increasingly competitive player in the global market.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Hun Manet urged the Minister of Commerce to strengthen her engagement with the private sector to further enhance Cambodia’s business environment. “In exporting Cambodian products abroad, need to meet and talk directly with the private sector to improve the business environment and encourage more foreign investment,” he said.

In his address, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the Royal Government's commitment to maintaining a stable and conducive environment for business and investment. He highlighted the government's focus on preserving peace, economic stability, and political security, while also introducing measures across various sectors to enhance the predictability and success of investments in Cambodia.

This event underscores Cambodia’s growing role in international trade and the government’s continued efforts to support and expand its export-driven economy.
